December 27, 1920 - February 20, 2020
A Life Well Lived Mrs. Lucille Bacon was born and raised in Commerce, Georgia on December 27, 1920 to the late Mr. Hood and Jessie Pittman. Her mother was a homemaker and her father was a well-known mechanic. Under the leadership of Reverend Melson at Warren Chapel UMC, she rededicated her life to Jesus Christ and joined the church family. Lucille enjoyed and faithfully served on the usher board and was honoured and recognized as a “mother “in the church. She loved the Word of God, read it daily, and was committed to inviting others to church. What Lucille loved most was being with family, along with a passion for cooking. She was known for her delicious pound cakes and cinnamon buns. She was also known for keeping peppermints and candy in her purse for the children after service. Our “Queen of Fashion” always made a statement with her fancy suits and hats to match. With her unique sense of humour, she enjoyed making others laugh and smile. She had a passion for dancing and had no problems telling anyone “What Was on Her Mind.” In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Alfred, Amos, Willie Joe, Hazel, Suzie Mae, and Pearlie Mae. Lucille transitioned into Eternal Rest on February 20, 2020 to a loving and merciful God, sustained by the power of Him who said, “Well done thy good and faithful servant, enter now into the everlasting joy of the Lord.” Amen Left to cherish her wisdom and fond memories is her daughter; Shirley Almond (Billy), her grandchildren; Annette Williams (James), Sherry Eberhart, Sheldone Almond (Nicole) and Liberty Canzater (Greg), her Great Grandchildren; Chaquita Thomas, Quinton Williams, Yoshika Middlebrooks, Jasmine Almond, Daisia Almond, and Zoey Canzater, her Great-Great grandchildren; Bryson Faust, Taylor Anderson, Laila Bolton, and Quinton E. Williams, and a host of other relatives and friends who adored her. Lucille is greatly loved by family and friends; she has truly made her mark in our lives.
